We are the one and only sake brewery in Iida City, in the southern part of Nagano, Japan. In 1944, 38 local breweries consolidated into one and Kikusui Brewery was born. It is said that there is good sake where there is good water.
Using Takane Nishiki rice, which has been revived through the cooperation of local contract farmers, we carefully brew our sake in our traditional method.
For the ingredients of other alcoholic drinks and liqueur, we are committed to using local agricultural products from Nagano.
Many delicious agricultural products are produced here due to the high altitude and the significant temperature difference between day & night, and the long hours of sunshine.
We use underground water from the Central Alps of Japan’s mountains, which is partially sourced by "Sarukura No Izumi", one of Japan's top 100 natural waters.
In addition to Sake, we also produce Shochu, Plum wine, Apple Cidre and other Liqueur made from locally grown Peaches, Chinese Quinces, and Blueberries.
